성주산의 식물상

Mt. Seongju is located the north side of Seongju-myeon in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do. The investigated vascular plants consist of total 140 taxa: 15 varieties, 125 species, 112 genera, 52 families, 34 orders, 3 classes. As for the useful plants, there were 77 taxa of edible ones(39.7%), 38 taxa of medicinal ones(19.6%), 24 taxa of ornamental ones(12.4%), 39 taxa of industrial ones(20.0%), 13 taxa of afforesting ones(6.7%) and 4 taxa of poisonous ones(1.5%) respectively. As the above results, there are abundant plant resources in this area. But it needed to protect this area, because of some destruction factors of vegetation such as many visiting tourists for its outstanding scenery.
